Announcing: The Gorboline Zine

I’m excited to share that there is now a Gorboline zine! This cute lil’ guy contains 48 pages of my favorite Gorboline comics. There are two cover variations and it’s available in a variety of different colors. Each comic is handmade and stapled at home, including being printed on my dependable but now extremely overworked HP inkjet printer.

I created this zine to prepare for the Gorboline graphic novel - both as a new way to promote the comic, and as a way to “practice” digital editing and formatting. I may be writing a graphic novel, but I truly have NO IDEA what I am doing, and so learning about things like file formats, printer margins, and editing software has been vital. The graphic novel editing is now progressing faster than I expected, and I feel more confident in what I’m doing.

This zine has been a delight to make. I enjoyed laying these comics out and picking them, I LOVE stapling them, and it just feels really good to see Gorboline in print, even in such a simple way. There might be a future for Gorboline in print. Who knows?

My plan is to take Gorboline to a few zine fests and comic shows in the next year to promote the comic. I also will start to mail these out in the next couple months, and I’ll start to reach out for people’s addresses soon to get this mailing together.
